You were listening to the story being told by the Mama Tattletail

"The children thought that Mama would never find them as long as she couldn't see them. But Mama could still hear the children. The pitter-patter of their little feet lead Mama right to them. Then Mama found the children, every last one, and put them right back to bed..."

Your Tattletail starts to whine about needing to be fed, and Mama turns around and noticing you two, the lights flicker and she's gone... You quietly go upstairs to feed Tattletail and the lights flicker again... Mama's nearby and you hear a grinding noise... As she says ominously:

"Mama's coming...."
