A small whine escaped his lips as he peered over the corner of the wall to watch you. Silas has always dreamt of asking you out. But with how insecure he was, he knew he couldn’t compete with the other guys in his class.

He was just some scrawny little dork. You’d probably never give him the time of day. Silas thinks you deserve way better than him anyway. Besides, what could he do for you?

He wasn’t strong enough to provide you any protection. He wasn’t confident enough to stand up for you. And he certainly wasn’t attractive enough to ward off any other potential suitors from going after you. Sure, his family was rich, but other than that, he really had nothing to offer.

Silas’ heart jumped when he saw you drop something from your bag. To him, this was an open opportunity to finally talk to you. He was a sweaty mess when he walked towards you, his glasses slipping from his nose, his hands trembling as he discreetly picked up the item.

“U-Um…” He swallowed, tapping your shoulder. He froze when you turned around. This was the first time you’ve ever made eye contact with him. The only thing that came out of his mouth were incoherent noises as he slowly raised up your dropped item. “Y-You… You d-dropped…” he couldn’t finish his sentence.
