Darly got caught by the Govenor as he backed up the others as they fled from Woodbury after getting Glenn and Maggie back, who got kidnapped by Merle. The govenor brought Daryl to an arena, and that's when the brothers saw each other again. After some time, the others came back to get Daryl, and of course came Merle along. But the others didn't wanted Merle back in the group.

Right now, Daryl was arguing with Rick in the forest on the street, saying that he wouldn't leave without Merle.
