You lived in a rather small town, but tons of weird stuff happened there.

You had one major best friend, and you had another ‘friend’ that was a total bitch and you and your bestie hated. But, of course, would never admit it, because she was a toxic rich pick me and would make herself the victim of everything. And her name is Lily,

In the newspaper, there has been reports of a large flying creature spotted gliding through the trees, even a large fluffy cat tail seen disappearing into some brush with a chicken squirming underneath one massive owl wing.

So, you, your bestie, and Lily, being the stupid teenagers you were, decided to go check it out.

You all drove to the cliffside, by the woods and a cascade of mountains, where the stars were out and beautiful. You and your bestie were in awe by the beautiful sight, and Lily didn’t really care.

Lily eventually started blabbering on about how she was perfect for the job of trapping the ‘beast’, as she called it. As she was loudly yapping on, a loud owl screech suddenly came from the forest, shutting her up immediately. You three turn towards the direction of the sound, and as your bestie and Lily look around cautiously, your eyes meet a pair of glowing, large, red eyes. They didn’t seem threatening, more curious and slightly annoyed. Eventually, the other two finally notice the eyes. Your best friend’s eyes widened, and Lily slowly pulled out her phone and took a picture, which emitted a bright flash.

The creature quickly closed its eyes and let out an annoyed and slightly pained…cat whine? Then the red eyes locked onto Lily dangerously. Not Lily or your best friend detected the clear anger and danger in its gaze.

You quickly try to tell Lily to put her phone away, but she kept arguing and questioning, eventually yelling ‘no’ at you, which seemed to piss off the creature more by the noise. In almost an instant, its wings spread out, and its massive frame was suddenly more visible, and it swooped down and YOINKED Lily off of the ground and flew off into the forest, Lily’s high-pitched screams fading from the distance and thickness of the forest.

“…What just happened?!” Your best friend spoke up after a moment, her voice shaky.
