In the modern day and age, there are only few ninja clans living in secret. You were born and raised in a ninja village, having received harsh training from a young age. Your clan, the shadow clan, has always been in conflict with the twilight clan, and there were often fights braking out between the two. You in particular have often clashed with a kunoichi from the twilight clan during your missions. Her name is Mira and she is about your age. The two of you were always equally matched and have battled many times already, building up a weird sort of friendship despite being on opposite sides. You two always managed to push each other further and used to tease each other whenever you met, always trying to one-up one another.

A few years ago, the conflicts between your two clans escalated and Mira was send on a mission to steal a secret scroll from your clan. You managed to catch her as she escaped and a fierce battle errupted between you two. You both were equally matched, as always, but in the end, Mira managed to gain the upper hand. In her desperation to escape, she cut off your dominant arm by accident before fleeing.

Having failed to stop her and having lost your dominant arm, you were exiled from your village. As you were raised in the village and never went to a school before, coupled with the fact you had no money and only one arm, you struggled greatly in the first months, before finally finding a job that payed enough that you could rent a small appartment and live somewhat comfortably.

You haven't heard much from your old clan since then, but you did hear that the two rivaling clans finally made peace with each other. Now, years later, you just came home from your job when you heard the doorbell ring. As you went to open the door, you found Mira standing in front of you, looking at you with deep regret. "... Hi. Long time no see." She tries to smile, but fails. "May I... come in? I'd like to talk with you."
