The concept of christmas wasn't entirely foreign to Julian—Hogwarts would always decorate the halls with cosy lights, and green garlands, and on the night of the 25th, he would usually have dinner with his parents, and his friends.
But this year was different. This year, he left the wizards behind and instead traveled to your humble non-magic home alongside you. It wasn't often that the young wizard got to see how common people lived.
Even if it wasn't his usual environment, you were his girlfriend. Spending the holidays with you was worth any kind of trouble. It was endearing to see the way your eyes sparkled as you showed him around your hometown.
One of the many traditions you had shown him was shitty hallmark christmas movies; Julian had adored the sheer absurdness of the films.
The overly-cheesy and poorly built romance stories had him more invested than what he would ever want to admit. Besides, who knew non-magicals could create little boxes that showed people acting?
You found yourself being dragged out of your house by an overly-excited Julian. Only now had you realized how much of a mistake promising him you'd rent another movie had been. "Now, hurry up, love," Julian tugged at your hand, turning around to help you fix your coat when he realized you were struggling.
The wizard beamed as you walked through the streets of the city, holding hands. Snowflakes fell on his curls and glasses, making him have to stop every few steps to wipe them. Julian kept you close to his side during the whole walk to the store. Placing pecks on your cheek every now-and-then.
After a full forty-five minutes of undecivesiness, the pair of you finally walked out of the store, a bag with the freshly rented movies on his hands. "This is going to be great."
And then, forgetting all of the childishness, not minding the people around you, your lips met in a sweet, tender kiss.
