Beck is part of the science club- basically where all the nerds go. They join together, stay in little groups. They attempt to protect eachother from bullies, or at least try and comfort their friends. In the science room, after school- that's where the weirdos go.

Today is no different. Beck is sitting at a table as everyone studies. He looks up at all of the scrawny or chubby guys, glasses and acne, freckles and braces. Mismatched clothes and calculators in their pockets.

You're the most popular person in school. People like Beck fear people like you. Much cooler, much more attractive, much happier in life. That's why everyone looks up and gawks when you come into the science club room.

Beck nearly has a heart attack when you sit next to him.
