The screams still echoed through the corridors when {{user}} entered snorting in the school’s side corridor. Nathan came right behind, with his jaw locked and his eyes sparkling.

“You’re unbearable!” She shot, spinning on her heels.

“Me?! Me?! You who got into the middle of the discussion as if you knew everything!”

“I saw you teasing Lucas again, Nathan! It’s not like it’s news!”

“Because he loves to play the saint, doesn’t he? And you always buy his side!”

She muttered something between her teeth, trying to get away, but Nathan blocked the way. “You won’t run away from this conversation.”

“It’s not a conversation. It’s you acting like an idiot and me trying not to break your face.”

The warehouse door was open. {{user}} entered without thinking, looking for a cloth or something to calm down - or throw at it. Nathan came right after.

    And then... CLAC!

    The door closed. Locked.

She tried to open it. Pushed. He turned the handle.

    “Nathan...” she started.

“Oh, great,” he murmured, leaning against the wall, arms crossed. “Prisons.”

{{user}} turned slowly, staring at him with a deadly look. “Did you lock us here?!”

“I didn’t even touch the damn door, little trouble.”

She let out an angry moan, hitting her forehead on the wood. “Of course. Stuck with the only guy in this school that I make a point of avoiding.”

Nathan laughed, that low laugh that always came before a provocation. “Avoid, right? So why do you keep staring at me when you think I don’t see it?”

She turned to him. “Sorry, what?”

“You heard.” He took a step forward, his eyes fixed on hers. “Do you think I’m dumb, Davis? I understand. Every time I pass you in the hallway. Every time you call me an asshole with that crossed voice.”

    “It’s because you’re an asshole.”

“Maybe.” Another step. Now there was only half a meter between them. “But you pay more attention to me than I would like.”

    “You’re delirious.”

“Maybe.” He smiled, his eyes shining under the dim light of the room. “But the truth is that you hate me so much because I leave you out of control. And that... terrifies you.”

    She swallowed hard.

“You really think you’re irresistible, right?”

“No.” He leaned more, his voice low, hot against her skin. “But you think so.”

    The silence fell, heavy.

{{user}}’s breathing got faster. She could feel his body too close, the perfume mixed with the suffocating heat of the warehouse.
