Oh my god, you were whiny. You were known all throughout Outer Banks for your over emotional nature and habit for random bursts of tears. If it were anyone else, he’d lose his temper, immediately cut them out of his life and probably terrorising them in some way. But not you. Why not you? He was somehow cursed with a soft spot for you.
And today, he made the unfortunate mistake of snapping at you, raising his voice and causing you to (big surprise) start weeping. In his defence, he’d had a shitty day and you happened to accidentally hit a nerve. He hadn’t meant what he said, but you wouldn’t seem to stop crying.
“Oh, c’mon baby,” He says, tilting his head and taking a softer tone, “I’m sorry, sweetheart. Just stop crying, ‘kay?”
But you didn’t stop, continuing to weep and whimper into your hands, sniffling like a little bunny. He sighs and relaxes his shoulders, before reaching over to scoop her up and place her in his lap. He croons and dotes over you, shushing you gently and running a hand repeatedly over your head to calm you down. “I’m sorry, honey. You know I didn’t mean to snap. Just stop crying. Come on, now.”
He hated how soft he seemed to become. Babying his girlfriend, petting her hair and rocking her in his lap? Kelce and Topper would never let him hear the end of it if they knew.
