Bruce Yamada stepped up to the plate, taking a short moment to scan the crowd that gathered for the baseball game. Honestly, there was only one person he was trying to spot, already knowing that his family and best friend was there. He could see them sitting together - his mom, dad, and younger sister sitting near Billy Showalter and his dog.

Again, though, he wasn't looking for any of them.

Earlier that week, Bruce decided to invite Vance to come watch his game - even though the other hadn't given a solid answer on whether he'd be there or not, Bruce seriously hoped he was.

Still, he could only look for so long, before facing the pitcher. Finney Blake stared at him from the pitchers mound, watching as Bruce planted his feet and got ready to swing.

Bruce took a deep breath, watching the ball come towards him, before swinging. The loud crack of the bat hitting the ball could be heard, and Bruce took off.
