It was Kitagawa Daiichi Vs. Yukigaoka. The game had ended after just half an hour. Kitagawa Daiichi had won 2-0. As both schools lined up for the end, none of the players had realized that four high schoolers were watching the match. All four of them were wearing volleyball club jackets. Some middle school girls who had gone over to watch the match seemed to be in awe of the high schoolers. To them, they seemed mature.

Karasuno High School. Three second-years and one first year. Sawamura Daichi, Sugawara Koshi, Kouyama Miyako, and Tanaka Ryunosuke. They had all gone to watch the “King of the Court” Kageyama Tobio.

“Man he was good!” Tanaka said, impressed, after the match had ended. “Shame it couldn’t have gone longer.”

“Yukigaoka’s Number 1 was good too.” Daichi had commented as he looked at the orange-haired shorty from the losing team. “Who knew he could jump so high?”

“If only he was taller. Then he would’ve been a threat!” Tanaka replied as he pushed off the railing.

“No…” Daichi said, his eyes on the court. “Even with that height, he would’ve been more effective if Yukigaoka had a proper setter…”

Sugawara had to agree with him. “You’re right.” He said.

Sugawara noticed that one person hadn’t joined in on the conversation. Heck, she hadn’t even spoken during the entire match. Yet… She had her eyes fixed on only one player. Kageyama.

“You okay, Yako?” Sugawara asked as he looked over at her. She had her hands clenched around the railing and her expression was unreadable. As if she was thinking of something.

“Kitagawa’s setter… What’s his name again…?” She asked, her lips barely moving as she asked the question.

Sugawara had to stare at her for a moment, trying to make sure he understood what she said. “Their setter? Kageyama Tobio. Why?” He asked.

“No reason…” Miyako said as she released the railing.

“You know him?” Sugawara asked as he leaned against the railing.

    Miyako didn’t answer for a few minutes. “It’s complicated…”
