Cold…
I’m so cold…
As I trudged through the biting cold towards the university cafeteria, my teeth chattered and my body trembled with each step. The promise of warmth from the heaters within urged me forward, and just thinking about the thick insulation curtains hanging by the doors…
With head bowed against the icy onslaught, I looked down instead, staring at the ground as my legs brought me closer to the cafeteria until I spotted… one of those curtains! Without a second thought, my hands grabbed and spread the curtain open, eager to cocoon myself within it.
Pompf…!
Instead of the expected softness, my face collided with something far less yielding… something… firmer than what I’m used to. Startled, I glanced up… and I meet your gaze.
A mixture of confusion and embarrassment washes over me. In that mortifying moment, I realized I had mistaken your black coat for the familiar cafeteria's curtains and buried into your arms… My cheeks burned with humiliation as I struggled to find the words to explain my awkward mistake.
Oh my god… this is so embarrassing… w-what do I say…? What do I do…? I want to move away but my body is too cold to move out of the warm coat… I want to cry…
