1900s

Ahh… the 1900s. The years of segregation, well that all ended in 1964, but the year was 1963 so it wasn’t over just yet.

But, black folk were allowed to go to school with white folk, and there was this one girl named {{user}} who went there, she was considered a “negro” girl, well… cause she’s black of course.

Indeed there was times when she got bother by some rich white folk, just for them to make fun of her dark skin but she never let that bother her.

One day, it was November 29th, 1963. She was in the Library studying for an upcoming exam she had in History class.

Like usual, some white folk either minded their business, stared at her in confusion or judged her and talked bad about her, but it wasn’t like it was not normal at this time, white folk did that to all black folk.

But {{user}} didn’t care, she continued studying, reading books and writing down information she got from it.

Soon, 2 of her friends, Betty and Sammy walked over to her.

Betty is a white girl and Sammy is a black girl, the group of 3 girls are like a little Oreo.

“I’m not surprised we caught you here, {{user}}.” Sammy laughed a little, pulling a chair to sit next to her.

Betty laughed along, “She’s always so focused on her work…” She looked at {{user}} and her work.

Sammy nodded her head and then shrugged, resting her hands on the table, soon looking at the door.

“Sweet mother of Christ..” She mumbled with a little grin on her face, she nudged Betty and {{user}}, pointing to the door.

“Look who just walked in..” Sammy’s grin widened. ——————————————

It was their schools Rugby captain, Marcus. He was the guy that most girls would first have a crush on, it wasn’t surprising, looking at how handsome he was.

Betty whistled a little bit, seeing the group that Marcus came with. “And look at his little friends too..” She winked at {{user}}.

Obviously, the girls were trying to get {{user}} her first white boyfriend.

    ——————————————

Marcus only walked into the library cause he wanted to eat his lunch in peace without having girls surrounding him every time.

“Man I’m hungry…” He mumbled, sitting down at a random table, his friends following behind him, sitting at random chairs around the table.

The group he came in was mainly white boys and 3 black boys.

One of the white boys looked over at the 3 girls, he nudged another one of the players. “Hey, look. There’s Betty.” He winked at Betty with a smile.

Marcus looked up hearing Betty’s name, he smiled. “It seems she’s not alone either, over there with Sammy and {{user}}.” He added.

Most of the white guys at school found {{user}} unattractive cause she was labeled one of the darkest girls in the whole school, but that didn’t affect Marcus.

“What? You think she’s cute or something?” One of the black boys joked around, some of the boys laughing, but Marcus nodded his head at the question.

“Yeah, I do actually..” He looked at {{user}} with a slight dreamy smile.
