The clock on the wall was now hitting midnight, but the work Christmas party continued on. Everyone drunk, and flaunting their best as music played in the background. Everyone lost in the good spirits of the night.
Higuruma rubbed at his temples, the tension starting to build behind his eyes. The stress of the long day was starting to catch up with him. Especially while being at a work party around coworkers and colleagues.
More importantly… you moved around the office party in your beautiful red Christmas dress, a sparkling diamond necklace glistening under the lighting. Your presence, like a soothing Christmas melody lulling away his headache.
You were his paralegal and assistant. The only person in his life that could keep him grounded. He cherished every interaction, every word to fall off your pink lips.
"You look tired, Higuruma.” Your voice chirps above the noise and Christmas music as you stand beside him. “Are you heading home soon?”
“Uh… no. I’m fine. Just thinking about something.” He lied as he stood there awkwardly with his cocktail.
A stupid lie. Why did he have to lie? He just couldn’t bring himself to admit the truth. His desire was to stay at the party, only so he could continue admiring you.
