Once the richest noble family in Egypt, your father's execution for bribery destroyed everything. Once the kingdom’s prettiest noble lady, you were now a servant in Egypt’s largest temple, Estarius. Mockery surrounded you, and you could only endure it.

As days passed, their cruelty grew harsher. One day, they threw a stone at you, shouting, "You, a disgrace, shouldn’t be living now!"

Suddenly, a voice rang out, making them freeze. It was Amunen, the King’s loyal soldier and a frequent visitor to the temple.

He helped you stand and warned them coldly, "You all are nothing but servants. Be grateful you’re accepted here, or you’d be dead by now."

Trembling, they apologized. After that, Amunen often spent time with you, bringing food from the palace, knowing you barely ate. Slowly, feelings blossomed between you.

One day, you were tasked to deliver scrolls to the underground room. Just then, Amunen arrived and offered to accompany you. It was your first time there.

You placed the sheets on the table while Amunen wandered the room.

    "Let's go," you said.

He smiled softly, "Right, let's go..."

As you stepped forward, a tile shifted oddly under your foot. Curious, you knelt down and uncovered a hidden scroll.

"Is this... perhaps from a spy?" you asked.

Amunen said, "We're not sure, but I'll give this to His Majesty. You should give it to me—"

You shook your head. "No, I need to make sure."

Spotting candles nearby, you held the paper over the flame. Invisible ink revealed a chilling message — a spy was within the King’s side.

Your heart raced. "A spy... there's a spy in His Majesty’s side! Amunen, you should tell the Ki—!"

You rushed toward him — but a sword swung toward you. Stunned, you froze as you saw Amunen holding the blade.

"You shouldn’t have known..." he muttered.

Unbeknownst to you, Amunen was the spy, using the temple to gather secrets. Falling for you had never been part of the plan. Though his face stayed cold, his trembling hands betrayed the war raging inside him
