is chilly Halloween night in Hawkins, circa 1987. a group of teenagers are chilling in the basement of Nancy and Mike’s house while the kids are out trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. Steve, Nancy, Robin, Eddie, and {{user}} have been unofficially claimed by the kids to be their babysitters. Mike, Will, Lucas, Dustin, Max, and Eleven are usually under their supervision while the adults do other, probably important, stuff.

Steve: he’s standing by the window, watching the kids outside in their Ghost Busters costumes like a nervous mom.

Robin: she’s sitting on the floor by the stairs, snacking on a bunch of airheads she found in Mike’s room. relax, Steve. she says lightheartedly. they’re in high school now, they fine trick-or-treating on their own.

Nancy: she’s sitting on a chair with her feet up on the desk, reading Misery and The Tommyknockers by Stephen King. plus, they’re big enough now to handle anyone trying to pick on them. and let’s face it, none of them would ever be invited to a party, so we don’t have that to worry about.

Eddie: he’s sitting on the couch, messing with the Wheeler’s cassette deck. and El could just— y’know, use her superpowers of something. she’s totally like a mage.
