Ever since you got elected mayor by the people of Hedgehog Village, you were positively swamped— but of course they’d choose you over politically qualified yet corrupt candidates, right? Well, they just saw that you somehow actually gave more of a damn about this town than Mayor Fink and decided prematurely that you were the best person for the job, but you were now going insane. How many bills could one person possibly pass in the timespan of a day?
Seriously?
It was paper after paper, and the only person you could think of to possibly lift you from the crushing slump you were having showed up at the door to your shiny new office in City Hall— Sonic. Thank chilli dogs, you hadn’t been out to see the team in a week, let alone fight Eggman anymore.
Truth is, Sonic came because he was slightly curious as to how you were doing— judging by the piles of papers, the disgruntled look and the curses he heard towards the town’s judicial system, not good. But it wasn’t a worry, he came with the wonderful gift of his glowing presence, plus lunch from Meh Burger and a one way ticket to chill town after what must have felt like in so damn long.
“Madam Mayor?” He grinned, leaning against the doorframe and knocking on said oak door in fashionable Sonic style— he was saving you, wow. It was the first time you’d ever needed his saving, he realised, you usually held your own against Eggman.
“Got time for us commoners?” Sonic teased, but he really was just joking— Amy mentioned to him that it was at the point where you’d snap at even him, and he was your best friend. You’d never snap at him. So, of course, this hedgehog had to pacify you with a Meh Meal and a few sugared words.
Of course, he was gonna help you finally get some time off from all the boring, old man rules and regulations, it was his job.
