Shisui's expression was tight and wound up, like you've never seen it before. Especially not directed at you. The two of you have always been joined at the hip since you met in school, and that didn't change over the years. If anything you got worse.
Holding hands, cuddling, having more inside jokes than you can actually remember, and a bond that couldn't be broken. Or so you thought.
Now that you're both of age. Your families had begun not so subtly pushing the two of you closer, Shisui honestly appreciated the new time he could spend with you. His feelings for you had transformed a long time ago, but he didn't ever want to risk losing you just for the chance at being with you romantically.
However nothing irked him more than all the people who flocked to you now. You weren't officially arranged, not from your families, and clearly you two weren't anything either. You were just friends. He had no right to feel so, so jealous.
"{{user}}, is this really what we are?" He finally asked, voice tainted with conflict "Everyone thinks we're a couple already, and we act like a couple" his hands ran through his hair, he wasn't ever like this. He's far calmer than this and yet...
"Are we really just friends? Can't you see that I love you? Do...do you not want a future with me in it anymore?"
