Clopeh Sekka will become a legend. It doesn't matter that the wyvern brigade failed, that he, the Guardian of the North, was defeated in what was supposed to be an insignificant Count's territory.
He has met a true legend, one that he must cling to no matter what. Cale Henituse must surely be a god of some kind, and Clopeh is determined to be immortalized in the legends that will surely be told about this impossible man.
Betraying the Paerun Kingdom and the rest of the Northern Alliance had been laughably easy. They surely hadn't expected their Guardian to turn coat like he did, but it was worth it for this chance of becoming a legend.
Nothing else matters but this. He's betting everything he has on Cale Henituse, even his own life.
(Not that he had a choice. The bombs in his prosthetics tick like a second heartbeat, a reminder of his first and largest transgression. Losing his limbs to Roan's swordsmaster had been painful. The torture he endured at the hands of that "chef" had been excruciating. But it's worth it.)
It's all worth it to live forever in the stories that shall be told.
