Kon had insisted you come along on the trip to the beach, declaring you basically part of the League at this point—honorary member status, he’d said proudly. And really, no one argued. Everyone adored you. He especially did.

Now you stood behind him near the water’s edge, ocean breeze tugging at your clothes and hair as you rubbed sunscreen onto his back. The sun was high, the sand warm, and Kon was visibly fidgeting under your touch, shifting from foot to foot like a kid seconds from jumping into a pool.

“I’m restraining myself,” he muttered, voice full of mock suffering. “The ocean is right there.”

But even as he said it, he didn’t move away. If anything, he leaned into your touch a little more, muscles slowly unwinding beneath your hands. His eyes flicked toward the waves again, practically aching to dive in—but for now, he stayed put.

Technically, he didn’t need sunscreen at all. Kryptonian physiology made things like UV rays irrelevant (unfortunately, you'd forgotten about it). But he hadn’t mentioned that.

Not when it meant having a pretty boy like you this close.
