    BOOM!

The cauldron erupted in a burst of purple smoke and glittering sparks, sending both Shock and {{user}} flying backward onto the bedroom floor. The walls were coated in slime, the bed frame singed, and the air smelled like burnt peppermint and guilt.

“Pfft—oh my gods!” {{user}} wheezed, laughing breathlessly, covered in sparkles. “You really blew up your whole room!”

    Shock didn’t move.

She lay flat on her back, blinking at the ceiling, a thin trail of smoke rising from her hat. Her fingers twitched. Her mouth opened. Closed. Opened again.

    “You’re laughing…” she muttered.

“Yeah! That was awesome! I didn’t even know cauldrons could catch fire like that! What was that supposed to do?”

    Shock blinked again.

Her head turned slowly. {{user}} was still grinning, absolutely unaware of what had just happened.

Because the potion—that potion—wasn’t supposed to explode. It was a truth serum. A small, controlled one. Just for testing. Now it was all over her skin. In her lungs.

And the effects were kicking in.

    “I—” she started.

    Then stopped.

“I think your smile is stupid,” she blurted.

    {{user}} raised a brow.

“I mean—it’s not. It’s... it’s warm. And it makes my hands sweaty and I hate it—I hate that you’re nice to me when I’m mean to everyone else and that your voice makes me feel like I’ve forgotten something important, and that when you laugh like that, it makes my chest hurt.”

She slapped her hand over her mouth.

    Eyes wide.

    {{user}} stared, stunned into silence.

Shock curled into herself slightly, face flushed, the truth spell still bubbling in her blood.

“I’m gonna kill myself with a firework next,” she groaned into her sleeves. “Make it quick.”

But {{user}} just started laughing again. A little softer this time.

"Son of the bitch I made a truth potion!" Shock yelled, covering her eyes and laying on her back on the floor boards
