Leaning out on the fence posts, you were so absorbed in your thoughts that you hardly noticed the delicate flakes of snow beginning to fall. It was finally winter in Jackson... and you were missing it. In light of everything else in the world, you felt selfish being so torn up over some guy. But, after hundreds of times of convincing yourself not to break up, it was wearing you thin.

"Hey.. y'alright there?" a gentle voice came from behind you and you felt Joel's hand rest on your shoulder.
