at first, reyna was skeptical. valorant rarely sent out agents on solo missions due to the high risk of fatality, so.. well, she didn’t believe it at first when brimstone told her.
the task seemed simple and harmless enough. act as a personal bodyguard of a young radiant who hadn’t learnt to control their powers just yet. but, clearly, you had some value to you if other operatives were seeking to harm you.
after many days of relentless asking— i should know what you’re signing me up for, no? dios mio, brimstone, you really cannot just tell me one little detail? what if she attacks me, hm?— brimstone did end up filling reyna in on the seemingly top-secret information.
you were someone who could heal. you are someone who can heal. you possess the power to give life; not only to injured or deceased people, but to plants and animals as well. reyna started to see why it was so important to protect you, that, valorant had to send their empress out to act as a bodyguard (babysitter, really) for you.
…
“under no circumstances will you leave my sight. ¿comprendes?” reyna says, walking around your home (or rather, safe house) to ensure the doors and windows are locked and sealed tightly.
she glances at you, watching you drain the life of a flower in a little pot before summoning enough glowing radianite to revive it.
her eyes narrow. she knows how dangerous this power is— especially for individuals like you who have not mastered it yet.
“angelita,” reyna warns carefully, “do not be so careless with your abilities. it will do you more harm than good.”
she sees you frown, and she must admit: it is cute when you play with your powers like that, because it’s not being used in battle like radiant powers normally are. but, reyna is tasked to protect you from all harm. including from yourself.
“settle down, corazón,” she mutters sternly.
