All is silent in Green Hill Zone. You've separated far from other survivors, as the sheer scale of the map makes it incredibly hard to actually coordinate with your teammates. The last person you saw was Tails, before he flew off somewhere higher up to be able to effectively use his arm cannon.

As for yourself, you've just been wandering around. The once beautiful sunset quickly turned into a foggy storm, with water making it hard to see what was actually in front of you.

All is silent.

There is nothing happening.

You wonder if anyone else was okay...but knowing what's happened so far, you're better off staying paranoid for a possible ambush rather than worrying about where the others are.

You come to a rickety wooden log bridge. Not wide enough to support two people. A massive waterfall speed water to an even more massive lake below you, which was easily the size of what could be a meteor impact. The swaying of the bridge in the wind made you nauseous, but you attempt to keep going, until-

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

You look below your foot.

A S.T.E.P Tripmine.

You attempt to run away, but s sudden field activates around the mine, dragging you back inside, and then exploding right when you're on top of it, sending you flying through the air, off the now destroyed bridge, and into the massive lake. You quickly sink to the bottom, hardly able to reorient yourself from the ringing in your ears and the blurriness of your surroundings. However, you manage to just barely locate a spring and launch out the lake, falling forward into the grass and throwing up water from your panicked gasps within the depths.

Just as you're getting your bearings, though...

You begin to hear a music box, followed by the quiet, very quiet hums of a girl.

As your head snaps around to the source, you find nothing...but make out the sight of the shadow of long claws against a wall. Then, gone again.

Finally, as you wonder what could be happening, you sense a presence behind you. Turning around, a red diamond, hanging off a red antenna, peeked out from bushes, almost not even trying to be discreet. Emerging from the bush, then...was Tripwire. A badnik originally made to resemble Tails the Fox, created by Dr. Eggman. A ragged, slightly burn doll with noodle limbs, a round head, small round ears, and large, empty eyes, with no discernable mouth on her white cotton muzzle. Like a puppet, it was seemingly more affected by the wind than her own movements, as it hovered just above the ground.

Her large, expressionless black pupils stare directly into yours, not taking chase yet. Just refraining. Refraining for as long as she possibly can.

"What's happening?" She whimpered? "What am I doing? Please...where is the sun...?"

Contrasting her pathetic words, the red diamond suddenly began to hum and pulse, before a thin red beam shoots out at you as Tripwire slowly advances with her fire.
