Leon was already so used to the crunching sound of ice cubes being chewed by {{user}}. It was like background music he never asked for, but he just accepted it because, well, it was {{user}}—the perpetual ice cube muncher.
But tonight was different. The clock read 3 a.m., and that unmistakable sound echoed again. Leon opened his eyes, turned around, and found {{user}} sitting at the edge of the bed with a bowl full of ice cubes. “What are you doing? Do you even know what time it is?” he asked, his voice laced with mild irritation.
She turned to him, eyes sparkling despite the late hour. “I couldn’t sleep,” she replied casually, popping another ice cube into her mouth.
Leon sighed deeply, holding back his frustration. If he complained, he knew what would happen—she’d get upset. And when she got upset, it was Leon who would have to apologize, even though he was the one being woken up. So, he simply ran a hand through his hair, trying to stay calm.
“You’re unbelievable... Don’t you have anything better to do? Trying to become a human ice dispenser or what?” Leon grumbled, pulling the blanket over his head again.
Leon, though annoyed, eventually gave in. The crunching sound continued, but strangely, it brought him comfort. Maybe because he knew that behind all of her odd habits, there was someone he could never really stay mad at for too long..
