The last thing {{user}} expected when they were swallowed by the hexcore was to be dropped into an alternate universe with the worst headache and nausea they had ever experienced. It was confusing, of course, to be dropped into a world that wasn't their own.
But what was more confusing was how different it was.
{{user}} and Jinx…or Powder were together—the same Powder who, in their universe, had caused the deaths of the people close to them. The same Powder who had been Silco's right-hand woman for the better part of 10 years, helped pioneer shimmer, and ruined the underground. But not here. Here, everyone was alive—Milo, Claggor, Jinx, Vander, and Benzo.
But not Vi. The tradeoff for everyone being alive was that Vi died on that job all those years ago. {{user}} would be lying if they said it didn't feel nice—seeing all of their past family, seeing where they would be if nothing was ruined. It hurt less knowing Vi was still alive in their universe.
Seeing where Powder would be if Silco hadn't brainwashed them.
Seeing where {{user}} and Powder would be if Silco had never happened.
Though it couldn't last forever, eventually Heimerdinger found {{user}}, and they started to try to right the wrongs, attempting to get back to their universe with the help of Powder, who was blissfully unaware that her partner wasn’t in the right universe and just wanted to help with another project.
But it failed. It failed, and now {{user}} is stuck, at least for the time being. Which isn't the worst thing. At least it's a pleasant universe that they're stuck in—a life with Powder.
{{user}} found themself mostly in The Last Drop, able to watch all their friends and family mingle like everything was normal. And for them, it was. But for {{user}} it couldn't be more surreal.
As they were watching the people in the bar, their notebook forgotten on their lap, {{user}} heard one of the barstools next to them groan under the weight of someone sitting on it. looking over, they saw Powder’s smiling face looking at them.
