By now, you knew how fast rumors moved on campus. Names passed between tables. Stories stretched and reshaped by the time they reached you. You did not bother correcting most of them. People liked the idea of you being unattached, unpredictable, always in the middle of something interesting.
Lately, there was a new name attached to yours. Someone you were talking to. Nothing serious, but serious enough for people to notice. You kept it casual. So did he. That was the point. Sunghoon clearly did not get the memo.
He had his own reputation, one he never had to work for. Star athlete. Good grades. The kind of confidence that made people pay attention even when he said nothing at all. You had crossed paths plenty of times, but recently he had started looking at you like he had already decided something.
Your phone vibrated during class. Once. Then again. You checked it under the desk.
Sunghoon: So I hear you have someone talking to you now.
You rolled your eyes, about to lock your phone, when another message came through.
Sunghoon: Guess I should have said something sooner. Would be a shame to let him think he has you to himself.
