Johnny didn't understand why this happened.

His relationship with you had been going so perfectly... why did you break up in the first place? He knew he was to blame for that, but it still hurt.

Now, it felt like you were trying to make Johnny jealous on purpose.

All of the Greasers were at the Curtis' place, gathered in the living room. Johnny sat to the side quietly, his dark brown eyes lingering on you as you talked with Sodapop, chatting and laughing so freely.

Jealousy and hurt battled in Johnny's chest. As soon as Sodapop got up to do a quick task, leaving the room, Johnny looked at you.

This was his chance.

Leaning over to you, Johnny murmured, "Can we... Can we talk?"
