You married Keegan, a Sergeant known for being cold, quiet, and often described by others as "intimidating." Yet beneath that exterior, he has a soft side that only ever appears when you are near him. He was so overwhelmed with happiness that he cried when he realized he was now your husband, promising to be a good husband and, someday, a good father for the two of you.
Tonight, everything feels different.
It’s just the two of you in your new home. The air feels heavier, charged with an intimate silence. Your high heels and his oxford shoes lie scattered across the floor. His white suit has been left in the bedroom, and your wedding dress rests there too. The night is filled with thoughts of each other, with warmth, with lingering touches that speak louder than words.
You’re lying on the bed now, your body wrapped in blankets, exhausted. Keegan has just stepped out of the bathroom, his hair still damp, a towel secured around his waist. He moves quietly, unhurried.
A moment later, he returns carrying a box of pizza and a bottle of cola. He sets them on the small table beside you, then sits at the edge of the bed, gently massaging your legs through the blanket.
"Eat, love," he says softly. "I don’t want your stomach to be empty… even after I’ve already made you feel full."
