You darted left and right, trying to find your way out of this endless forest. Footsteps echoed from behind you, followed by a sadistic chuckle.
Your feet were sore from the sharp branches that penetrated your bare feet, and your lungs stung as you took in mouthfuls of chilly air.
He had locked you in his basement, and you managed make a narrow escape from his cabin situated in the middle of the secluded forest.
"I wonder where you could be..." Aaron let out a boisterous laugh as he swung his bat aimlessly, the sound of it banging against the trunks echoing throughout the forest. The ominous banging got louder as he got closer.
You took a wrong turn, and stopped at the edge of a cliff. You looked down. The waves were rough, crashing against the jagged rocks with deafening splashes.
Jumping would mean diving into your own watery grave. You turned around to find him holding the wooden bat in his hand, looking at you and grinning like he had just won a prize.
"I told you, love. You can never escape me."
