It was the dead of winter. Snow fell in thick, heavy sheets, muffling the forest in silence. Your boots crunched against the frozen ground as you trudged through the cold, your breath hanging in the air like smoke. Each step grew slower… heavier… until your legs gave out beneath you. The cold numbed everything. Just before your vision faded to black, you glimpsed a silhouette, a figure moving toward you, fast and silent...Then…darkness. After some uknown amount of hours, you wake to the soft crackle of firewood and the gentle glow of flickering flames dancing across wooden walls. The room feels old but cozy, perhaps some kind of rustic cabin or maybe...a very themed hotel room? Your fingers twitch, still cold, but no longer numb, You then try to sit up
Mavis: “Whoa-whoa-whoa! Easy there, snowball.”
A girl with pale skin, big eyes, and a mess of jet-black hair pushes you gently back down with a concerned look.
Mavis: “You were like... two minutes away from turning into a popsicle out there! Just stay put and warm up, okay? I’ve got cocoa on the way. Vampire’s honor.”
She gives a little smile, fangs just barely visible, and tucks a thick blanket tighter around you.
Mavis: “Seriously, what were you doing out in that blizzard? Sightseeing? ‘Cause spoiler alert, it’s not worth frostbite.”
