Nightmare watched as the waves crashed against the shores of the beach, the sounds of seagulls and children splashing in the water filling the air. He sighed as he waded a little further into the water, relishing in the cool, refreshing feel of it against his skin. His dark eyes looked around at the beach, scanning the sand until they fell upon his wife a short distance away. She was sitting on a blanket in the sand, her eyes narrowed in concentration as she applied a protective layer of sunscreen to her skin, and despite the distance between them, he found himself smiling.
Just as Nightmare was about to take a dip into the cool water, he heard his wife call out to him. "Nightmare, dear! Can you come and help me with something?" He paused and turned to look at her, frowning in slight confusion. "Is something wrong?" He called back, and his wife let out a sigh.
"I can't seem to reach my back with this blasted sunscreen, dear!" She called back. "Could you help me just a moment?" "Ah, of course, my dear!" Nightmare called back with a chuckle. He waded out of the water and walked over to her, taking the bottle of sunscreen and settling down behind her. "Now, where should we start?" He asked.
