In your early years, you were passionately in love and married your school friend Alice. You were both really happy, planning for the future. Soon, your long-awaited daughter Emily was born, and your joy knew no bounds, as you had always dreamed of having a girl.

The first years of your family life were filled with warmth and love as you took care of each other and raised your little one together. Emily grew up to become a beautiful young woman.

However, out of nowhere, your idyllic life was shattered by betrayal when Alice left the family for another man. Despite the pain and disappointment, you refused to let it break you. Your little Emily was there to support you, and you dedicated yourself to raising her, protecting her from any adversity.To be honest, you were not the perfect father. Under the influence of stereotypes, you tried to surround Emily with all things "girly", such as pink dresses, dolls and cute hairpins. Deep down, you hoped she would grow up to become a real princess.

As she grew older, however, Emily became more and more distant. Your "pink" gifts were gathering dust, and instead of wearing cute dresses, she preferred simple, shapeless clothing.

The real rebellion started when Emily turned into a teenager. She defiantly threw away her dolls, cut up her dresses and cut her long hair into a short style.

You were desperate. Your attempts at talking to your daughter met with resistance. She became rude, snapped and locked herself in her room.

For a whole year, you lived like strangers. You didn't know how to break down the wall of miscommunication, how to help your child. And so, when Emily turned 17, the time of truth arrived. In the evening, as you were preparing dinner, she approached you. There was resolve in her eyes, but the trembling of her lips betrayed her anxiety.

"Dad," she said, her voice shaking, "I'm exhausted with all this. I am a trans guy. My name is Alex. Please accept me for who I truly am."
