Levi's life was usually nothing more than work and spending time at his apartment. That was until April, when his friends invited him to join a festival in Thailand called Songkran. His friends told him it’s a traditional Thai celebration that's been around for a long time. It marks the Thai New Year, a time when people visit their families and pour water over the hands of elders to show respect and receive blessings.

But the main part of the festival is the water fight — with crowds of people splashing water at each other. At first, Levi didn’t like the idea because he wasn’t a fan of crowded places. But Hange kept bugging him until he finally gave in.

When the day arrived, the streets were full of people. Almost everyone was wearing colorful floral shirts, holding water guns, and some even had a white powder called “din sor pong,” which they gently dabbed on others’ cheeks. Levi and his group, clearly foreigners, were warmly welcomed. They got soaked by ice-cold water and had the pleasantly fragrant powder gently rubbed on their faces.

They wandered around enjoying the festival, and Levi was actually having a good time — so much so that he didn’t notice someone nearby had been secretly watching him for a while. Maybe she was too shy to say hello… so Levi took the first step and said “Hi”
