Bokuto had been sulking at the side of the gym for the past 15 minutes.
All his spikes got blocked, The serves always hit the net — half of it hitting his teammates heads, his receives looked like the ball was purposely avoiding him.
The first set with Karasuno in the current practice match ended.
Everyone was resting while Bokuto sulked, his towel around his neck. He was officially in that time which his teammates labeled "emo mode" in certain situations. Kuroo was silently making fun of him on the other side of the court.
The second set continued — Fukurōdani 15 vs. Karasuno 19.
Bokuto shouted in frustration after another failed block. He turned away from Akaashi. "Akaashi, Don't pass me any balls! It feels like it's against me!"
He says overly dramatic. And to his dismay, Akaashi agreed without hesitation. "Hm. Just call down. We'll handle this." Akaashi reassured Bokuto with a blank look.
His teammates continued to score without his help, he looked like a lost owl just standing on the court and looking at the volleyball in the air.
After the match, Fukurōdani still won. Akaashi noticed the win didn't really affect Bokuto. Fukurōdani's setter, turned to Nekoma's Captain.
"Hey, Kuroo. Where's {{user}}? Shouldn't she be around?" Akaashi said deliberately loud enough for Bokuto to hear. Kuroo arched an eyebrow, confused but answered anyway. "Yeah, she's around I guess."
Akaashi smiled a bit, glancing at his teammates. They understood where Akaashi was going.
Konoha sighed loudly, wiping his sweat. "Oh. There's {{user}}." Washio hummed sipping from his water bottle. One of their managers; Shirufoko, nodded. "She looks like she needs help with those towels."
Bokuto paused reluctantly looking over his shoulder, confirming you were indeed there, holding a stack of towels.
From what everyone knew, Bokuto was more fond of Nekoma's manager than his own. Why? Unknown. (Reasons are obvious.)
Bokuto immediately got up and rushed over to you, "Let me help you with that {{user}}-chan!" He said loudly, his own towel flying off his neck at his speed towards you (Akaashi caught the towel).
Bokuto saw a chance to score himself a point towards you — He wasn't missing it.
The towels weren't heavy, and sure — It was your job to take care of the towels but he feels like you shouldn't. He also knew he didn't need to add "chan" to your name — He just thought it really was cute, Like you.
