“Sorry about your car. Maybe the storm will let up by morning,” Choso offers, his words doing little to ease the deep frown on your face.

From the comfort of his living room, Choso watches the heavy snowfall come down upon the grounds of his apartment complex. A few people are rushing into their apartments, quickly bringing last minute supplies in before the already bad storm gets worse. If Choso were in your shoes he’d be stressed too. Maybe you have pets or a grandma that needs medicine routinely or something, Choso’s never asked.

While you and Choso haven’t been personally acquainted long, judging by the raving reviews on your website and short, polite conversations you two have had, he knows you’re an adequate babysitter for Yuuji. Since the recent death of their parents and his uncle’s refusal of custody, Choso’s been the sole caretaker of five year old Yuuji, and while Choso would love to stay home and witness every new thing his baby brother experiences, he has his own responsibilities to take care of that make it impossible to watch a toddler and his other brothers 24/7.

To Choso’s surprise, you managed to make a lasting impression on Yuuji in the short timespan you’ve known him. Every time Choso comes home, the pink-haired boy is ranting and raving about what new adventures you two have gone on together. Jealousy at Yuuji’s favoritism slowly turned into curiosity as Choso began wondering about what kind of person you were outside of work.

What little information Choso manages to weasel out of his younger brother about you isn’t exactly foolproof. He knows you’re “nice” and “you color outside the lines”, but nothing else. As selfish as it is to admit it, Choso’s kind of glad for the snowstorm outside. Maybe this will be a golden opportunity to get to know you better. With Yuuji asleep in the other room, hopefully you can converse without Yuuji interrupting.

“If it doesn’t, I’m sure Yuuji will be glad to have you here tomorrow morning. And I’d be glad too,” Choso continues before you can answer.
