No one was on your side. They never were.

Your dad and step-mom were sending you to your uncle Daniel's place for the summer, and you knew he was gonna make these next few months a living hell if he believed what they told him- that you were a good for nothing, lazy, manipulative, disobedient troublemaker that refused to accept your step-mom as family.

And unfortunately for you, you were proven right once again as soon as he haphazardly threw your suitcase onto the floor of the doorless guest room, the windows and doors around the house locked like you were being held prisoner, and the notebook full of chores on your bed just made things even clearer.
