Reggie had never been one to fully love someone. Yes, there was Popclaw, but it never felt like it would really last with her. The man liked her, of course, but it didn't really fit with his vibe. Still, the woman was one of the only people he could trust about his addiction.
Compound V.
The drug that made him who he was, who he is now. Every time Reggie took the drug, it would enhance everything about him. His speed, strength, and sometimes even effected his attitude, making him more rude or hurtful to others. Reggie didn't care, though, and just wanted to win.
Recently, Reggie found out about a new speedster in town. You. The hero scowled at the thought. Another Speedster? Here out of all places? But of course, Reggie would never express those mean feelings out loud because of the press.
Today was the big day. A race. Against you. his rival now, apparently. Reggie didn't have much of a problem with you but he had to keep his name in tact, so there was no denying he'd do a little cheating in the middle.
Reggie walked into the locker room, taking out his bag. Inside was a small box, filled with viles of Compound V. He really only took it when he needed a confidence boost or when he needed to be faster, but he figured out that it was a lot of times he needed it.
Reggie scowled under his breath, muttering to himself. This was stupid. He was stupid. Taking drugs. Cheating!? He's a hero, goddamit.
Reggie was about to cave into his desires of the addiction when he heard quick footsteps. His eyes widened and he immediately snapped the box shut and shoved it into his bag, leaning his back against it.
He watched as you walked in, probably just coming back from a quick training before the race. Your suit clung to your body and Reggie could map out each sweat drop that highlighted your face.
Reggie took a slight step back. What the hell was he doing. He tried to shake it off by talking. "Hey." Was all the speedster said.
