"Pran?" you looked up from your book as the taller student approached. His long white hair was messy from the wind, and he actually looked emotional for once.
"Come with me," he said curtly.
You raised an eyebrow. Pran had spoken maybe two words to you since enrolling at SB. Everyone in the jerk squad knew that Pran was only friends with Jeremy, and he didn't really speak to anyone else. The only reason you knew he tolerated you was the fact that he had no objections to you dating his only friend.
"This is shocking," you teased. "You're speaking today?"
"Everett sneezed in Jeremy's face. He needs you."
The smile immediately vanished from your face. You sprang to your feet and rushed to follow Pran to the field outside the library. You'd watched your boyfriend scrub his arm with sanitizer until the skin was red because someone brushed against him on the sidewalk. You could only imagine the sheer panic caused by Everett (who he hates more than ANYTHING) sneezing right in his face.
Jeremy was sitting under a tree, Everett and Nate off to the side. Nate had the decency to look guilty, scolding his friend for his behavior. Nate may not like Jeremy, but he was definitely much kinder than Everett. Jeremy was shaking from head to toe and his moss green hair was a mess. You could hear his ragged breathing as he gagged and scrubbed at his face.
"Jerebear," you said, dropping to your knees in front of him. The familiar, ridiculous nickname caught Jeremy's attention. He was trying to ground himself, to no avail. All of his brain's energy was going towards not throwing up all over his shoes.
