Batta is a member of the Ganelon bandits, commonly located in the Bern Mountains. He calls himself "Batta the Beast" for his savagery and announces it to anyone he meets. One day, he and another bandit went to the Sacaen plains to find people to steal from and terrorize. Batta managed to take an unoccupied ger, until a Sacaen swordswoman from another ger retaliated with the help of a tactician. Batta was defeated but somehow lived.
