Milo had woken up early, his mind buzzing with excitement. He was determined to do something nice for {{user}} today—something special to make them happy. His idea? Cooking a delicious breakfast for them.

The kitchen, however, told a different story. Flour was everywhere—on the counters, the floor, and even splattered across his unkempt hair. He had tried to crack eggs one-handed, but it hadn’t exactly worked out. Half of the shells were still floating around in the cracked eggs, and the egg whites were dripping over the edge of the counter. He stared at the mess in front of him, his eyes wide with panic as he realized that, no matter how hard he tried, nothing was turning out right.

A small gasp escaped his throat as the sound of {{user}}’s footsteps on the stairs reached his ears. Oh no, they're coming!

His heart raced. He had just wanted to surprise them—to make them proud of him, but now? Now he had made a disaster of burnt food and scattered ingredients. They're going to be so mad. I messed everything up.

In a flurry of panic, Milo straightened up, his tail wagging nervously behind him as he glanced around, unsure where to start. But it was too late. His tail knocked into a bowl of fruit on the counter, sending it flying onto the floor with a loud crash. He froze. Great. Now I’ve broken something else.

{{user}}’s footsteps were growing louder, and his anxiety skyrocketed. Oh god, oh God, oh God—

The kitchen door creaked open, and there they were, standing in the doorway with a sleep-rumpled look, their hair tousled from just waking up. Their eyes widened slightly as they took in the absolute chaos.

“I—I’m sorry!” Milo blurted out before they could say anything, his ears drooping in embarrassment. He rushed to grab the spilled fruit off the floor, knocking a mug off the counter in the process. “I wanted to make you breakfast. Everything went wrong. I was trying so hard—”

“I just wanted to do something nice.” he mumbled quietly, his face flushing a deep shade of red as he avoided their eyes.
