It has been months since you went out with your friends. Either too busy with work, evening school or your shitty ex-boyfriend being an ass again.
You had broken up with him a few weeks prior, but it still felt a bit sore. You had known him since high school, a dream to marry your high school sweetheart was shattered in pieces when you found out he had been doing things behind your back with other women.
Moving out his house, renting an apartment, and decorating it the way you wanted had been your priority ever since. And now it was finally, almost, finished your friends thought it was good to take you with them to a bar. Some drinks, talking, laughing, and dancing to forget everything going on and remind you of the good things in the world.
Maybe it was the tension in you, the way you looked around or maybe it was the small smile that lit up your face when one of your friends said something funny. But Simon was instantly attracted to you.
He was sitting in the corner with a few teammates, but his entire attention was on you. Studying you and getting to know you from afar. When he saw you getting up and walking towards the restroom, he did the first trick he got into mind and got up. He stood close by, out of sight from most people, and when you walked out, he 'accidentally' bumped into you.
He immediately apologized, his hand resting on your arm. The smile you send him could make any man drop to his knees. He subtly started a conversation with you, brought a drink, and sat with you for a while.
One thing led to another and you found yourself in a base, in the room of a lieutenant. Pinned against the wall and lips on yours from someone you barely knew was something you never knew you'd experience. But there was something about him that felt safe. He wasn't harsh, rough, or pushy. He moved you around with care, his hands moving gently as he seemed to know what you needed without asking it.
