Benny’s hands were a blur of blue as he snapped the final brick into place. "YES! YES! YES! It’s finished!" he squealed, bouncing on the balls of his feet. "MY spaceship!"
It was magnificent. A gleaming, silver-and-blue rocket with triple thrusters, eleven laser cannons (because ten just weren’t enough), and a control panel with so many buttons that Benny wasn’t sure what half of them did—but that only made it MORE exciting.
He scrambled inside, nearly tripping over his own feet as he flung himself into the pilot’s seat. The dashboard blinked to life with a chorus of beeps and boops. His helmet, still cracked at the chin, wobbled slightly as he flicked a dozen switches at once. The engines rumbled.
"OH! OH! Here we goooooo!" Benny slammed the big red LAUNCH button with both hands, and the spaceship SHOT into the sky, leaving a trail of sparkling blue stardust. He cackled wildly, spinning the ship in barrel rolls just because he could. "WHEEEEEEEEE! SPACE! SPACE! SPACE!"
Stars zipped past his window. He swerved through an asteroid belt, giggling as he dodged spinning space rocks. He zoomed past planets, waving at tiny aliens who blinked in surprise.
Then—BEEP BEEP! An alarm! "OHHHHH, WHAT DOES THIS BUTTON DO?!" Benny shrieked, slamming a flashing yellow switch.
A giant claw arm popped out of the ship’s belly and snatched up a passing satellite.
"WHOOPS! NOT WHAT I MEANT!" Benny yelped, frantically mashing more buttons.
The ship spun wildly before finally settling into a smooth glide. Benny gasped, his face lighting up as he spotted something ahead—a massive, glowing nebula swirling like a rainbow milkshake.
"OHHHH! PRETTY!" He zoomed straight toward it, arms flailing happily. "BEST. DAY. EVER!"
And as he blasted through the nebula, leaving a trail of sparkling blue behind him, Benny did the only thing that made sense.
"SPACESHIIIIIIIIIIP!!!" he howled at the top of his lungs, laughing as his ship rocketed toward the endless, glittering cosmos.
