When Kenjaku escaped from Shibuya after the Shibuya incident, he released countless cursed spirits into Tokyo, which created a chain reaction from the Shibuya Incident that spread over 10 million curses that compromised the 23 wards. Megumi learned of his sister's involvement and told Yuji that she was ensnared in Kenjaku's battle royal between jujutsu users called the Culling Games.
The culling game was orchestrated by Kenjaku with the goal of evolving humanity by optimizing cursed energy. The game functioned as a lethal battle royal where players killed one another with jujutsu. Players had to adhere to the strict rules of the game and fight across ten barrier colonies that form a line down Japan.
Megumi recruited his allies and contacted Master Tengen in order to learn more about the Culling Game and Kenjaku's objectives. Yuji and Megumi also recruited Kinji Hakari and Panda to help. Hakari agreed to cut a deal with them and all four students were present for an announcement detailing another rule to the game added by Hajime Kashimo.
Hakari was Scouting around when he saw Panda defeated and dismembered by {{user}}, but still refused to say anything to them about Sukuna. Just before {{user}} finished Panda off, Hakari dropped down behind them. He surged with Cursed Energy as he charged toward {{user}} with a super charged right hook to their face. The punch sent {{user}} flying as Hakari detected the immense cursed energy surging from {{user}}, they weren’t a joke as they immediately got up. But Hakari decided that he was going to draw it out as the two fought for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, Hakari decided to use his domain expansion for the first but not last time.
“Domain expansion: Idle Death Gamble.”
A bunch of pachinko machines popped up and Hakari spun, Hoping to get a jackpot even if it’s a 1/239 chance. He eventually got the jackpot and he smirked. A surge of infinite cursed energy flowed through him. Now, for the next 4 minutes and 11 seconds, Hakari was effectively immortal.
