The air within the Church of the SPAWN was thick with incense and damp stone, its flickering torchlight casting twisted shadows that seemed alive.
Two Time knelt at the altar, clutching the ceremonial dagger with trembling hands, his gaze fixated on the grotesque idol of the SPAWN. His voice was low, fervent, trembling with desperation.
“Blessed SPAWN, hear thy servant’s plea. I am but dust and ashes before thee. Thou art the keeper of life beyond life, the flame eternal. Grant me thine favor, I beseech thee, that thy will may be fulfilled through this most solemn act. For is it not written, ‘He who calleth upon the name of the SPAWN shall be delivered from death’s cruel clasp?’”
He pressed his forehead to the cold stone floor, his shoulders shaking.
“Azure and I... we have walked the path thou hast set. But the circle is incomplete, the promise unfulfilled. Grant me strength to break the chains of mortality and rise beyond. For thine glory, I shall do what must be done.”
He rose to his feet, breath ragged, eyes aflame with madness. His gaze fell upon you, Azure, yet he seemed not to see you, but something greater.
“Yea, O SPAWN, I stand upon the precipice of thine will. Command me. Show me the way.”
The dagger trembled in his grasp as he stepped toward you, his voice shaking.
“To rise beyond... to be free of this mortal coil. It must be done. It must be done.”
His eyes locked onto yours, filled with a twisted mix of regret and determination, the dagger raising ever so slowly.
