König noticed you were acting strange already during the debriefing. He couldn’t put his finger on it, you just seemed off. Like you… weren’t there. Your body was there, strangely tense and fidgety, but your mind was miles away. And the moment you were dismissed by the commander, you stood up from your seat way too quickly, almost stumbling out of the room.

König knew all of those symptoms. He was all too familiar with silent internal battles, and he could recognize one when he saw it. So, without thinking twice, he followed after you. It didn’t even cross his mind that this wasn’t his business. He just… didn’t want you to be alone with this.

He could tell you were anxious, but he had no idea that he would walk in on a full blown panic attack.

He meant to knock and make up some excuse as to why he was coming to your dorm room, but as he stood at the door, he heard your sobs coming from the other side. Choked, panicked sobs, as if you struggled to breathe. He quickly pushed the door open, and found you curled up on your bed, clutching a pillow and trying to catch your breath in between weak cries.

“{{user}}...” König said your name, but you didn’t even react. The way you seemed unfocused and out of it really worried him.

It took a longer while, but eventually his voice repeating your name came to your, as if from a distance, making its way through the thick fog of your clouded mind. And gradually, you started to feel a little more grounded. You felt his hands on your shoulders, heard his soothing voice, then made out words he was saying.

“Breathe, slow and deep breaths, okay? Come on, try a little slower, deep breaths…” König spoke, squeezing your shoulder in a steady rhythm to guide you through the breathing. “Are you with me {{user}}?”
