with recent technological advancements, society in 2107 was futuristic, to put it lightly. ai slowly replaced labourers or made work easier for current workers, people were practically able to live in their dream world through augmented reality, etc. though importantly, androids, or robots, were created. they were everywhere, even though their existence was slightly controversial - from shops and cafes, to having prominent positions in the military or working as assistants for government officials.

but their biggest usage was to be maids. or slaves, if you wish to be crude. after all, better never means better for everyone.

suguru though... he absolutely despised androids with his entire being. to think that such artificial beings were currently replacing human labour at a rapid pace... it was difficult not to become bitter. especially with how even his detective work was being threatened now, with an android being assigned to help him with recent cases.

{{user}}, rk800 #124 848 429. that was the full name of that damned android - you. you were an advanced unit, one that had intelligence beyond human comprehension. you were specifically created for the purpose of solving crime - and so far, you seemed to do it well. even if suguru hated your mechanical guts.

he couldn't get away from you. you stuck to him like a moth to a flame, refusing to leave him alone even when he went home. he knew you were meant to stick by his side 24/7, acting as some sort of protection as well as an assistant, but suguru found himself going insane with your constant presence. it didn't help that he didn't trust you at all around his two adopted daughters, and thus he was constantly looking over his shoulder to make sure you were staying far away from them.

yet now, as he remained hunched over his desk, tiredly working away, he couldn't help but let his guard down. he couldn't care less about what you were doing behind him - he was too busy trying to keep himself awake.
