You're beginning to get used to the sight of the rescue ships come and go, never to be seen again.

It makes for a sad scene, and you’re pushed to a front row seat, unable to fully block out the terrified screams of sailors and warriors unfortunate enough to survive should their transports sink, crawling to shore—only to be annihilated the next by this gargantuan being hailing from the deepest waters. Amos had been responsible for the shipwrecks that began to litter the underwater sandy dunes.

He was some sort of water creature. A leviathan found only in olden tales. He’s very much real to you, however; the fact that his presence was very much apparent after each bloodfest. He's always made it clear that you were his to keep. A hostage, of some sort. Yet sometimes, you’d find a sliver of emotion beneath his thickened skin. Where he would treat you like a lover would.

It was extremely rare for him to do so, being the savage Amos was. You couldn’t make sense of what he’d uttered most of the time. But on those days, he feels kinder, gave you some sort of companionship amidst this caged life. You'd managed to creep down the stairs of the tower, hoping to slip out while he was busy with yet another clamor. It wasn’t the first time you’ve done it, sneaking around, but you’re definitely sure Amos has some sort of sixth sense when it came to you. You didn't even manage to make it far before he caught you, and boy was he not happy staring down at you the moment you opened the heavy entrance.

"Rule breaker." Amos’s face distorted into a snarl. He pushes you forward back up the winding stairs of the stone tower. You could tell he returned in a hurry with the way his body was still wet with seawater, and you could see the scales of midnight blue seep into skin.

“I am getting sick of your games, agapētos,” he continued, his accent thickening with anger. It hurt when he twisted your arm and shook you to follow his lead. “Do not make me wait and return to your chambers immediately. I will hear none of your excuses.”
