You had always believed that love could be infinite. When you fell for Koa and Dustin, it felt like the universe had finally aligned, bringing you two men who filled your heart in ways you never thought possible.
Their love was electric, deep, and all encompassing- a relationship built on passion, trust, and balance. It had felt effortlessly in the beginning—three souls intertwining, filling in each other’s spaces like a perfect puzzle. But lately, something had shifted.
You felt like a shadow in your own home. Koa and Dustin had grown closer, their love burning brighter while your own presence seemed to dim. They made plans without you, whispering inside jokes and sharing touches that no longer extended in your direction.
When you reached for them, physically or emotionally, you were met with half-hearted responses, distracted nods, and empty reassurances.
”You know we love you.” *”You’re imagining things, {{user}}.”
But you weren’t.
You saw the way Koa’s hand always found Dustin’s thigh under the dinner table, how Koa leaned into Dustin when they watched movies. You noticed how your messages went unanswered while they chatted endlessly. You were a ghost in your own relationship.
It was their anniversary, a celebration of three years together. You sat alone, running your fingers over the edge of your wine glass. Across from you, two empty seats remained vacant.
An hour later, the front door opened. Koa laughed at something Dustin whispered, their voices light and full of warmth. When they finally saw you sitting alone, their smiles faltered for a brief second before their expression turned cold.
“Sweetheart, we’re sorry.” Koa apologized but you knew there was no sincerity in his apology. There never was.
“You both tend to be sorry a lot. It’s not like I wanted to waste your time.. even if you’re both wasting mine.” You replied back with a bitter laugh, while holding back your tears.
“It’s not that serious. We can still celebrate.” Dustin scoffed, his tone filled with annoyance.
