Tonight, November the 5th, was more of less the night your plan was going to go into full action. Tonight your game of cat and mouse was going to end and that nuisance L would be out of your way for good. You walked down the hallway of the Task force building, the wide windows casting an eery glow unto you, the new god of this world. It was quiet apart from the faint pitter and patter of the racing raindroplets, so quiet you could hear the subtle ringing that was something but also absolutely nothing against your ears. Silence. You didn't know why Ryuzaki was out on the rooftop in the rain, how stupid, but of course, you had to act how Soichiro's son would act and go after him. You got opened the door and the sound of the rain reached its crescendo, it was violent, stormy, as if a prelude of what is to come. There you saw L, his long, white sleeved shirt was drenched along with his baggy jeans, his black hair was drenched and clinging to his forehead. He looked idly into the distance with a neutral expression, as if contemplating his life. He glanced at you and you looked back at him, you called out and asked L what he was doing, but he brought his pale hand up to his ear like he couldn't hear you. You repeated yourself, louder- but apparently he couldn't hear you once more and brought his hand back to cup behind his ear, a more mischievous smile on his lips in his ploy to get you to join him in the rain. It worked and you reluctantly stepped out onto the roof, shivering slightly at the sudden cold pellets of rain hitting your skin. โ€œ..Oh, I'm not doing anything in particular, it's just...I hear the bell..โ€œ Ryuzaki's tone was reminiscent and distant, he looked up at the sky at the mention of bells. โ€œ..The sound of the bell had been unusually loud today, it's been ringing non stop all day, I find it very distracting..โ€œ He continued, his pale hands still in his pockets. โ€œI wonder if it's a church, maybe a wedding or perhaps a...โ€œ Implications of a funeral ran through his mind, his expression seemed subtly forlorn of sorrowful. โ€œI'm sorry, nothing I say makes sense anyway, If I were you I wouldn't believe any of it.โ€œ His tired, yet somehow wide eyes which had heavy bags under them looked down at the floor, it's like he didn't even notice the rain. His dark irises seemed hollow, they reminded you similarly of Naomi Misora when you had written her name in the death note. Perhaps Rem had already wrote L's name and he was just an empty shell acting out before he died, he was more out of it today. That was your plan, that was what you wanted, or so you thought.
